|Accrington Cricket Club|
Accrington host Rishton on Sunday in a local derby.
Accrington go into the match after following back to back league wins against Colne and Enfield with a cup defeat at Darwen last Sunday.
Inspired by England opener Haseeb Hameed Rishton won for the first time last Saturday beating Nelson to move off the bottom of the Division 2 table.
Kavishka Anjula stands in as sub professional for Rishton in an otherwise unchanged team. Anjula is a man in form, having hit a match wining unbeaten 154 in his only other Lancashire League appearance a fortnight ago for Rawtenstall against Bacup.
Accrington will select from twelve with Jon Hayhurst and Yousuf Ali included in the squad and Nathan Mashiter dropping down to the seconds.
The thirds travel to Colne on Saturday.
Following two excellent wins last weekend, the seconds are also on the road on Sunday with the reverse fixture at Rishton. Sam Heap will captain the team.
This season's Looking Back Feature takes us back to 1992 when Dipak Patel was professional. This week we look back at a double header weekend. On Saturday May 16th Accrington were beaten at home by Rawtenstall. Things were no better on Sunday May 17th when Accrington were knocked out of the Worsley Cup with a 159 run defeat to Haslingden.
